Walt's Waltz Hosts Youth Mental Health First Aid

Walt's Waltz is a compass and a megaphone for mental health support, education, and change. In keeping with our mission, we are excited to announce upcoming educational courses.

Through a valued partnership, Walt’s Waltz is able to host this live, virtual Youth Mental Health First Aid certification course. Please sign-up here: https://forms.gle/DsEnaebC8CxtDkqr7

After signing up, we will send you an email and calendar invite with information including the Zoom link. (Must be 18 and over to take the course.)

Part 1 and Part 2 on Tuesday, June 29 from 9:00 AM - 5:00 PM EDT (We are also offering Part 2 of YMHFA on July 7th due to time zone conflicts for some participants.)

  • You will receive receive a 3-Year Certification in YMHFA and manual.

After you sign-up, we will send you an email and calendar invite with the links to these Live, Virtual Sessions.

WHO SHOULD TAKE IT?

Teachers, School staff, Coaches, Camp counselors, Youth group leaders, Parents, and People who work with youth (Must be 18 or over to take the course)

Topics covered in this courses are listed below:

*Common signs and symptoms of mental illnesses in this age group, including: Anxiety, Depression, Eating disorders, Attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD), Common signs and symptoms of substance use. How to interact with an adolescent in crisis. How to connect the adolescent with help.

Mental Health First Aid teaches about recovery and resiliency – the belief that individuals experiencing these challenges can and do get better, and use their strengths to stay well.
